Recycling Greywater

Published by farmblogger at 10:52 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Greywater is the water that has been used in a home for bathing or general housekeeping such as doing the dishes or the laundry.

Di you know you could use this water to water your houseplants or your garden?

Obviously, resetting your plumbing system to redirect your household’s greywater would be a fairly involved process that could take a great deal of time, energy and even money.

However, if you are not averse to carrying a bucket or two, you could make your greywater work for you while shrinking your footprint a bit.

Consider recycling used bathwater by watering your houseplants with it.

Do your kids have a kiddie pool that needs to be emptied on occasion in the summer?  Use that water in your garden rather than just dumping it on the lawn.  Get your kids into the act too!  Carrying their little buckets will be great exercise and a good lesson in becoming stewards of the earth.
